Richard Wardle is a living artist who
has painted watercolours, and, as in this example, used those as a base
to produce limited edition prints.
He lives in Shropshire and most of his
works are of landscapes and other scenes from nature. This picture is a
typical example of his work.
He began printmaking at Harrow Art
School in the late 1970s, using a screen printing technique. A
description of his method was published in the Printworks Magazine in
1997 (see
www.artmondo.net/printworks/artists/past/wardle.htm).
Note that landscape works by other
modern English printmakers, who have established a common distinctive
style, can be seen under the artists Phil
Greenwood and Graham Evernden.
