Not a great deal is known about Joseph Horlor, but he exhibited from 1834 to 1866 at the British Institution and Suffolk Street galleries in London. He lived in the Bristol and Bath areas and most of his subjects are Welsh landscapes (like the above) or coastal scenes. Two examples of his work are held by the Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery.
